Agricultural and pastoral production
  • Agricultural crops and domesticated animals reached egypt from Sub-Saharan Arica by way of Nubia as well as Southwest Asia.
  • Favorable geographical conditions let Egyptians to build a productive agricultural economy that supported a powerful state.
  • After about 9000 B.C.E. people's of the eastern Sudan domesticated cattle and became nomadic herders while they continued to collect wild grain.
Trade and Commerce
  • 4000 B.C.E or even before, trade with Nubia.
  • Traded with mesoptamia 3500 B.C.E.
  • 3000 B.C.E. traded within the Eastern Mediterranean Basin.
  • After the establishment of the New Kingdom, trade thought the red sea and the Gulf of Aden with a West African land called Punt (modern day Somalia and Ethiopia).
